Sam's been leaning on my hands a LOT lately.

It's more on the right lead, but whenever I try and get him into a frame, he'll go into a mega nice one for about 3 strides, throw his head RIGHT down which causes me to like, land on his neck, and then he spazzes and it all goes downhill.

THis usally happens like 12 times in the average hour ride; and it's becoming a REALLY annoying habit.

I have him in a snaffle, flash and draw reins.
I used to him in in a running martingale and draw reins, but I thought it was too many training aids so took off the draw reins for a while and just used the martingale. He was fine for a while, then would NOT go in a frame and went around with his head up.

I was thinking of getting him a grackle noseband and then taking off the draw reins and what not.
Would this have any effect at all?
I read that they can be kinda nasty...?
